What All Is Involved While Being In The Military And Being Allowed To Drive A Motorcycle In German?
I am changing duty stations to a small army base in Bavaria. I have a US state motorcycle license, and I do not know what I will have to go through to be allowed to ride when I get there. Do I have to get a German motorcycle license? Are there any certain fees? Do I have to take any classes, etc…

Dec 26, 09 at 8:34 amYou will have to sit thru a German driver’s license class to get a basic license. Many people find the road signs difficult.
Once you get your regular license you must take a road test with your motorcycle.
A basic driver’s license is $10 or $15. I dont know how much a motorcycle license is. Many soldiers ride their bikes with no problems, you will have to get it registered on post, of course.
If you do an internet search, you can find the exact manual they use.
Good luck coming over here.
